Shipping & Delivery Policy
Last Updated: October 10, 2026
At Furniture Depot, we are committed to providing reliable, professional and transparent delivery services to our valued customers.
We offer local furniture delivery and shipping services to eligible destinations across Canada. Please review the following Shipping & Delivery Policy before completing your purchase.
By placing an order, customers acknowledge the delivery terms disclosed at checkout and the applicable policies outlined below, subject to consumer protection laws.
1. Order Processing & Confirmation
-
Orders are processed following successful payment authorization and verification.
-
Processing times may vary depending on merchandise availability, order size and the type of products purchased.
-
In-stock items are generally prepared for delivery or shipment once the order has been confirmed.
-
Special-order, made-to-order and customized merchandise may require additional processing and manufacturing time.
-
Customers will be contacted if material changes to their order or delivery arrangements require their approval.
Special Orders: Once merchandise has been ordered from the manufacturer or production has commenced, voluntary cancellations or modifications may no longer be accepted, subject to applicable consumer protection rights.
2. Local Furniture Delivery
For deliveries within Furniture Depot's local service area, including eligible locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), our delivery team will contact customers to arrange a delivery appointment.
-
Customers will be contacted using the telephone number or contact information provided at checkout.
-
Customers must ensure their contact information is accurate and accessible.
-
Delivery appointments are arranged based on route availability, merchandise readiness and customer location.
-
Delivery time windows are estimates unless expressly confirmed as guaranteed.
-
Requests to reschedule should be communicated as early as possible.
We make reasonable efforts to accommodate customer scheduling preferences; however, specific delivery dates and arrival times cannot always be guaranteed.
3. Out-of-Town & Canada-Wide Shipping
Orders outside our local delivery area are generally shipped using independent third-party freight or parcel carriers.
-
Shipping services and charges vary by destination, product dimensions, weight and delivery requirements.
-
Customers will receive shipment confirmation and tracking information by email when tracking is available and the order has been dispatched.
-
Delivery timelines are based on the carrier's estimated transit schedule.
-
Larger furniture items may require freight transportation and additional handling arrangements.
-
Customers may be contacted by the carrier to coordinate delivery.
Important: Out-of-town deliveries may be completed using curbside or another delivery service level, depending on the shipping option selected at checkout.
Inside delivery, furniture placement, unpacking, assembly and packaging removal are not included unless specifically stated in the purchased delivery service.
4. Delivery Access & Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for ensuring that ordered merchandise can be delivered safely to the intended location.
Before purchasing, customers should verify:
-
Doorway, hallway, stairway and elevator dimensions.
-
Furniture dimensions and configurations.
-
Building access restrictions and delivery requirements.
-
Parking and loading arrangements.
-
Condominium elevator reservations, where applicable.
-
Accessibility of the delivery location.
Customers must also ensure that an authorized person is available to accept the merchandise at the scheduled delivery time.
Furniture That Does Not Fit
If merchandise cannot be delivered into the intended location due to insufficient access, incorrect measurements or restrictions not disclosed before delivery, the customer may be responsible for additional transportation, handling or return charges where properly disclosed and legally permitted.
A customer's failure to measure their space does not automatically qualify merchandise for a refund or exchange.
5. Missed & Failed Delivery Appointments
A delivery may be considered unsuccessful if:
-
No authorized person is available to accept the merchandise.
-
The customer cannot be contacted at the scheduled time.
-
The delivery address provided is incorrect or incomplete.
-
Required building access has not been arranged.
-
The delivery location is inaccessible or unsafe.
-
The customer refuses delivery for reasons unrelated to a product defect, order error or another legally protected reason.
Where a delivery attempt fails due to circumstances within the customer's control, additional redelivery, storage or handling charges may apply if disclosed and legally permitted.
If merchandise is returned to our facility following an unsuccessful delivery, an approved voluntary cancellation or return may be subject to the applicable minimum 25% restocking fee and transportation charges.
All fees remain subject to the customer's purchase agreement and applicable law.
6. Refusal of Delivery
Customers are encouraged to carefully review merchandise details, dimensions, colours and configurations before completing a purchase.
Refusing delivery solely because of a change of mind, a change in personal preference or failure to measure the intended space does not automatically cancel an order or create an entitlement to a refund.
Such refusals will be handled under Furniture Depot's Returns, Exchanges, Refunds & Cancellation Policy.
Where a voluntary return is approved:
-
A minimum 25% restocking fee applies.
-
Original delivery charges are generally non-refundable.
-
Additional return transportation charges may apply where disclosed and legally permitted.
-
Merchandise must satisfy the applicable return conditions.
This section does not restrict the customer's right to reject defective, incorrect, misrepresented or otherwise non-conforming merchandise or exercise any statutory cancellation rights.
7. Shipping & Delivery Charges
Shipping and delivery charges are calculated based on factors such as:
-
Delivery destination and distance.
-
Merchandise dimensions and weight.
-
Number of items.
-
Delivery service level.
-
Carrier and freight requirements.
Applicable shipping charges will be presented or otherwise disclosed as required before the purchase is completed.
For oversized merchandise, remote destinations or orders requiring a specialized freight quotation, Furniture Depot may contact the customer to confirm shipping arrangements and obtain approval of additional charges before proceeding.
Furniture Depot will not impose additional shipping charges without the customer's authorization or another lawful basis.
Original shipping and delivery charges are generally non-refundable for approved voluntary change-of-mind returns.
8. Delivery Delays & Estimated Arrival Times
Furniture Depot makes reasonable efforts to meet communicated delivery estimates.
However, delays may occasionally occur due to:
-
Manufacturer production schedules.
-
Supplier inventory shortages.
-
Carrier or freight transportation delays.
-
Severe weather or road conditions.
-
Transportation disruptions.
-
Other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a material delivery delay occurs, Furniture Depot will endeavour to provide customers with updated information and available options.
Estimated delivery dates are not guarantees unless expressly confirmed as such.
Important: Delivery delays do not automatically entitle customers to compensation. However, statutory rights to cancel an agreement or receive a refund because of qualifying late delivery remain fully applicable.
9. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Deliveries
Customers are encouraged to inspect merchandise promptly upon delivery.
If an item arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, please contact Furniture Depot as soon as possible.
To assist with our investigation, provide:
-
Your order or invoice number.
-
A description of the issue.
-
Photographs of the affected merchandise.
-
Photographs of damaged packaging, where available.
Reports should be sent to INFO@FURNITUREDEPOT.CA.
Furniture Depot will review the concern and work toward an appropriate resolution, including repair, replacement parts, replacement merchandise or a refund where appropriate or required by law.
Customers should retain packaging and relevant delivery documentation where reasonably possible until the matter has been reviewed.
Failure to report visible damage immediately does not eliminate statutory consumer rights.
10. Special Orders & Custom Furniture
Certain Furniture Depot products are manufactured or specially ordered according to a customer's selections.
These may include:
-
Custom Canadian-made sofas and sectionals.
-
Special fabric and upholstery selections.
-
Customized configurations and dimensions.
-
Made-to-order furniture.
-
Merchandise ordered specifically from a supplier for an individual customer.
Production and delivery timelines may vary.
Once an order has been submitted to the manufacturer or production has commenced, voluntary cancellation or modification may be restricted.
Special-order and custom-made merchandise is generally considered final sale for change-of-mind returns, subject to applicable law.
Customers are encouraged to confirm all product specifications before completing a custom or special order.
11. Returns, Restocking & Return Transportation
Furniture Depot's separate Returns, Exchanges, Refunds & Cancellation Policy applies to eligible merchandise.
For approved voluntary change-of-mind returns:
-
Return requests must be submitted within 7 business days of receiving the merchandise.
-
A minimum 25% restocking fee applies.
-
Merchandise must be unused, unassembled and in its original packaging.
-
Customers are generally responsible for arranging and paying for return transportation.
-
Original delivery and shipping charges are generally non-refundable.
-
Returns require prior authorization unless otherwise permitted by law.
Furniture Depot reserves the right to refuse voluntary returns that do not meet the applicable conditions.
These restrictions do not override statutory cancellation, refund or warranty rights.
12. Customer Pickup
Where customer pickup is offered, customers will be notified when their merchandise is ready for collection.
Customers are responsible for arranging suitable transportation and ensuring that purchased items can be safely transported.
Customers should inspect merchandise and verify the number of packages at pickup where reasonably possible.
Furniture Depot is not responsible for damage caused by improper customer-arranged transportation or handling after collection, except where otherwise required by law.
13. Consumer Protection Rights
Furniture Depot is committed to complying with applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation.
Nothing in this Shipping & Delivery Policy limits or excludes statutory rights or remedies available to customers.
Where legislation provides a right to cancel an agreement, obtain a refund or receive another remedy due to late delivery, defective merchandise, misrepresentation or other qualifying circumstances, those rights take precedence over this policy.
