Returns, Exchanges, Refunds & Cancellation Policy
At Furniture Depot, we are committed to providing quality furniture, exceptional value, and a positive shopping experience.
We understand that purchasing furniture is an important investment. We encourage all customers to carefully review product specifications, measurements, colours, configurations, delivery arrangements, and applicable store policies before completing their purchase.
Please review the following terms regarding returns, exchanges, refunds, and order cancellations.
1. Returns & Exchanges
If you change your mind or are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may request a return or exchange within 7 business days of receiving your merchandise.
All voluntary returns and exchanges require prior approval from Furniture Depot and must meet the following conditions:
-
Merchandise must be unused, unassembled, and in its original condition.
-
All original packaging, protective materials, instructions, accessories, and hardware must be included.
-
Merchandise must be in suitable condition for resale.
-
A valid receipt, invoice, or proof of purchase is required.
-
All returns must be authorized before merchandise is shipped or brought to our location.
-
A minimum 25% restocking fee applies to approved change-of-mind returns and exchanges.
Furniture Depot reserves the right to refuse voluntary returns or exchanges that do not meet these requirements.
Requests submitted after the 7-business-day return period may be declined.
These conditions do not restrict any rights customers may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
2. Non-Returnable & Final Sale Merchandise
Due to the nature of furniture and home furnishings, certain merchandise is considered FINAL SALE and cannot be returned or exchanged due to a change of mind.
These items include:
-
Custom-Made Furniture: Furniture manufactured or customized according to a customer's selections, including fabrics, colours, dimensions, or configurations.
-
Special Orders: Merchandise specifically ordered from a manufacturer or supplier for a customer.
-
Made-to-Order Merchandise: Custom upholstery, Canadian-made custom sofas and sectionals, and other specially configured products.
-
Clearance & Liquidation: Merchandise identified as clearance, liquidation, or final sale.
-
Floor Models: Display merchandise purchased as-is.
-
Mattresses & Bedding: Mattresses, pillows, mattress protectors, and bedding products that have been opened or used.
-
Assembled or Used Furniture: Products that have been assembled, installed, altered, used, or damaged after delivery.
-
Gift Cards: Gift cards are non-refundable except where required by law.
Final-sale restrictions apply to voluntary change-of-mind returns and exchanges and do not eliminate statutory rights relating to defective, misrepresented, or non-conforming merchandise.
3. Order Cancellations
We understand that circumstances may change after placing an order. Customers requesting cancellation must contact Furniture Depot as soon as possible.
All voluntary cancellation requests are subject to review based on the status and nature of the order.
In-Stock Merchandise
Cancellation requests for regularly stocked merchandise will be reviewed based on whether the order has already been processed, prepared for delivery, shipped, or otherwise fulfilled.
Special Orders & Custom Furniture
Once a special order has been placed with a manufacturer or production has commenced, the order may no longer qualify for voluntary cancellation.
Customers are responsible for reviewing all merchandise specifications, colours, configurations, and measurements before confirming special orders.
Orders Already Shipped or Prepared for Delivery
Orders that have already been dispatched or prepared for delivery may be subject to applicable transportation, handling, cancellation, or restocking charges where these were properly disclosed and are legally permitted.
Any applicable cancellation charges will be determined according to the terms disclosed at the time of purchase and applicable consumer protection laws.
Furniture Depot reserves the right to decline voluntary cancellations where permitted by law.
4. Restocking Fees
All approved change-of-mind returns and exchanges are subject to a minimum 25% restocking fee, calculated on the purchase price of the merchandise being returned or exchanged.
Restocking fees help cover expenses associated with merchandise handling, inspection, administration, repackaging, and returning products to saleable inventory.
Additional transportation or handling charges may apply where disclosed and legally permitted.
Restocking fees do not apply where prohibited by law, including when a customer is exercising a statutory right to cancel an agreement or obtain a refund.
5. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Merchandise
Furniture Depot takes product quality and customer satisfaction seriously.
Customers are encouraged to inspect their merchandise carefully upon delivery or pickup.
If an item arrives damaged, defective, or different from what was ordered, please contact us promptly at INFO@FURNITUREDEPOT.CA.
When reporting an issue, please provide:
-
Your order or invoice number.
-
A clear description of the concern.
-
Photographs showing the affected merchandise and packaging, where reasonably available.
-
Any other relevant information that may assist our customer service team.
Our team will review the concern and work toward an appropriate resolution.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include replacement parts, repairs, a replacement product, or a refund, as appropriate and required by applicable law.
Furniture Depot may coordinate with the manufacturer or supplier when evaluating warranty-related concerns.
Nothing in this section limits statutory remedies available to customers.
6. Shipping & Return Transportation
For approved voluntary change-of-mind returns and exchanges, the following conditions apply:
-
Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for return transportation unless otherwise agreed.
-
Original shipping, delivery, and handling charges are non-refundable except where required by law.
-
Merchandise must be securely packaged to prevent damage during return transportation.
-
Furniture Depot is not responsible for damage or loss occurring during customer-arranged return shipping, except where otherwise required by law.
-
Customers are encouraged to use a reliable, trackable, and insured shipping service.
Unauthorized returns may be refused, subject to applicable consumer rights.

7. Refund Processing
Once authorized returned merchandise has been received and inspected, Furniture Depot will notify the customer regarding the status of their refund request.
If approved, refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.
For voluntary returns, refunds will be calculated after deducting any applicable, properly disclosed, and legally permitted charges, including restocking fees and return transportation costs.
Refunds are generally processed within 10 business days of approval.
Please allow additional time for your financial institution or credit card provider to process the transaction.
Where applicable law requires a different refund method, amount, or processing timeframe, those legal requirements will take precedence.
If you have questions regarding an approved refund, please contact INFO@FURNITUREDEPOT.CA.
8. Exchanges
Furniture Depot may approve exchanges for eligible merchandise within the applicable return period.
All voluntary exchanges are subject to:
-
Merchandise eligibility and inspection.
-
Product availability.
-
The original condition and packaging requirements.
-
Applicable restocking fees and transportation charges.
Where the replacement merchandise has a higher selling price, the customer is responsible for paying the difference.
Where the replacement merchandise has a lower selling price, the difference will be addressed according to the approved exchange arrangement and applicable law.
Exchanges involving defective, damaged, or incorrectly supplied merchandise will be handled separately in accordance with applicable consumer protection and warranty requirements.
9. Consumer Protection Rights
Furniture Depot is committed to conducting business fairly and in accordance with applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation.
Our voluntary return, exchange, and cancellation policies are intended to provide clear guidelines for customers and do not override statutory consumer rights.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes rights or remedies available to customers under applicable federal or provincial legislation.
Where legislation provides a right to cancel an agreement, receive a refund, or obtain another remedy, those legal rights take precedence over the voluntary terms outlined above.
